Animal Service Retreats
These retreats invoke the presence of Seva, which is pronounced “say-vah”. The yoga of selfless service is what Seva is all about. When we delve into the meaning behind Seva, we will discover that at its roots, two branches of yogic wisdom and philosophy are invoked. One being Bhakti Yoga, the form of yoga that is devoted to the inspiration of Divine Love. The other is Karma Yoga, the form of yoga that ignites Divine Right Action. It is within these foundational principals that the Animal Service Retreats were born. All Animal Service Retreats will be in support of various 501c3 Non-Profit Animal Organizations and sanctuaries throughout the United States.
These retreats will either be held directly at the sanctuary itself or our physical assistance will be held at the sanctuary and our housing will be close by.
We will begin our day with a morning meditation and restorative yoga session followed by a light, vegan breakfast.
The later part of the morning will involve offering our physical assistance to the organization with whatever it is that they may need help with, whether it be tending to the animals in need, caring for the housing in which they live, helping the organization with operational tasks or tending to grounds work. This is where the spark of SEVA shines forth in all of us!
We will then break for a beautiful vegan lunch followed by some rest. We will have two hours to relax and digest our meal and the incredible work that we are providing.
The afternoon will involve more sanctuary work, whatever it is that is needed- just as we did in the morning.
When 5:00 PM rolls around, we will retire from our days’ work and sit together in a 30-minute meditation before retiring to either our tent or housing close by the sanctuary, to freshen up.
Around 6:00 PM, a beautiful vegan dinner will be provided followed by a satsang, a sacred gathering of like-minded people in support of a cause. We will be entertained with relaxing live, acoustic entertainment to soothe our weary soul, knowing that we have indeed participated in Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of becoming the change that we wish to see in the world.
We will retire for the evening at 9:00 PM for just as the sun rises, so too will we, for another day of SEVA for the animals of the sanctuary.
Duration of the Animal Service retreats will depend on the sanctuary and of course, covid-19 restrictions.
*For those interested, we will be offering exquisite custom, made-to-order shawls and “hoodies” based upon our work at the sanctuary, as a memorable keepsake. These cherished heirlooms of yours will surely become a beautiful addition to your wardrobe for years to come!
Designs are different with each Sanctuary and Retreat.
Precise measurements are required and costs will be determined and collected separately by the artist and designer.
Our mantra (a mind vehicle) for these retreats:
“We must be the voice for those that cannot be heard.”
*50% of all profits will go directly to the 501c3 Sanctuary
*the other 50% will be overhead costs.
